Your best defense against flooding is your sump pump.
Make sure you check it regularly to ensure that it is in proper working condition before the heavy rains come.
1. Take off the cover and slowly poor water into the sump tank.
2. Watch for the float to rise. The pump will trigger.
3. Once engaged, the water level will lower.
